The Witch's Bottle, amber, represent the oldtime witch. Thoses who are scorn despite their wide knowledge. Frequently they are healers, midwives, sexworkers or simply single. They are damned in misogyny chorus. Even if witch's story are often romanticize, several of them actually lived: La Voisin, Marie Laveau, Salem's witches, Moll Dyer, Mother Shipton, etc. Nowadays, some keeps this vision of the witch : mean, hideous, screwy. But few feminisim movements took witches as a symbol. We admire them for their knowledge, their audacity, their resilience and their unconventional approach to feminity. The witch is the icon of women's freedom.
This modern witch is definitly on the path of freedom. Feminism fights are working and women's liberation will come even if we're still far from total equity. I honor this modern witch by representing her in a liberated bottle, released from this dark amber color, the social influence, to present it in an elegant clear and luminous phial. The Liberated Phial is roost on a blown foot took from the traditional venitian goblet work, originally made by men.
